Recently returning from his anthropological trip to the jungles of absurdia, Dr. Bob has brought back some rare specimens, of the puppet species. Marvel at these exotic creatures, sing a little song, and dive deep into Dr. Bob’s magic jukebox!

Make Your Own Yard Sign Senryu!

Join local poets Marcie and Mitch to make your own yard sign senryu to take home! A senryu is a short poem about human nature, similar to a haiku. Free and open to all ages while supplies last. This program is inspired by the poem at the edge of Prairie Island Campground, created by an anonymous artist posting on Instagram as @roadside_senryu.

Learn from the Xerces Society liaison, Danielle Hudson, about native pollinators and how to support pollinator friendly habitat.  Go for a hike and create a pollinator inspired mask

Swamp Oak Wanderers

Learn about the DRAGONFLIES that live at Prairie Island Park and do some wearable art inspired by these extraordinarily successful predators of mosquitoes. 

Save Our Streams Water Quality Monitoring &  Let’s Go Fishing!

Izaak Walton League

Come understand the river as we collect mud samples to understand creatures. We will be studying under the microscope and testing the water to upload to Save Our Streams database.  Be a part of the science that understands and protects our waters! Also, sign out a fishing pole and try to catch a few of the fish that call Straight Slough home.
